AS a former student at the Royal Forest of Dean College, I am very concerned to read that the college seems to be in trouble again. I attended the college in the 1990s and having not achieved very well at school, I found all the staff very supportive, with excellent teaching and achieved good results which enabled me to go to university.
I am very sad that the college governors and managers now seem to be failing their students and staff.
As a mother of three young children, I would hope that there will still be a college for my children to attend in the future. The college gave me and lots of my friends a fantastic opportunity to succeed and I feel that all those students who have benefited should demand that everything is done to protect its future, even if it means getting rid of the current governors and managers. – Emma Turnbridge, High Beech Road, Bream.
