THE MYSTERY of the disappearing moggies is worrying cat owners in Newnham.
Martin Yarworth, the man who lost his farmhouse in controversial circumstances and now lives in a horse box, is one of those who has lost pets.
"Both my cats have gone and I know there are others in the village. It is a real mystery for so many to go missing in such a small place," he said.
Mr Yarworth said the loss of the cats was causing him even more stress.
"It was bad enough getting through such a hard winter. The cats were beautiful animals and rarely strayed far from the field." he said.
"They were good company. Both were black and white in colour and former strays. Felix turned up around four years ago and Kitty about two years ago.
"Kitty was really wild and it took a long time to win her trust. They were only rarely out of sight and kept very much to the field, he said.
