FOREST Hills Golf Club is planning a big-prize fishing contest to launch its newly-established fishing lake, which has been stocked with huge carp to 30lb.
The competition, which will take place on Saturday November 25, will have top prize money of £100, with a £50 bonus for anyone catching a 30lb fish.
"It is a good way of making the lake well known," said spokesman Colin Revill. "It is sited in the extension we are building to the golf course and when we launch that in April the fishing will get into full swing too.
"At the moment we are going to open it at weekends only, to see how things go."
