MORE than 30 new jobs have been created in Ross-on-Wye following a £0.5 million investment by DIY retailer Focus.

Covering more than 26,000 sq ft, the new store at Overcross House, Ross-on-Wye, incorporates an extensive range of decorative products, gardening and lighting together with affordable kitchens, bathrooms and furniture.

Due to open early March 2002, the store is one of the first Focus stores to be built since the company took over Great Mills last year. The 30 new jobs will include positions ranging from supervisors to general assistants.

Store manager Aaron Jones said: "We are delighted to be opening this store in Ross-on-Wye and promise to provide local people with an extensive range of quality DIY products.

"The new garden centre offers a wide choice of products to both experienced and novice gardeners. There's everything from plants, composts, garden buildings and fencing to paving, pots, walling and path edging."
