WESTBURY-on-Severn's popular Community Toddler, Playgroup and Pre-School Group now has 'new to you' premises at the village school.
The group, formerly known as Westbury and District Playgroup and based at the Parish Hall, has moved into the village school's redundant Elliott building, which has undergone extensive refurbishment.
Now they are to hold an open day next Thursday, January 23 (10am-11.30am) at which parents of toddlers, playgroup and pre-school age children will be very welcome, says management committee chairman Tracey Ridler – the group is managed by a voluntary committee of parents which changes nearly every year.
"We were formed by parents in the late 1960s. In the mid-90s our name was changed to Bright Horizons. Sessions were increased for toddlers and playgroup and with the help of head teachers at Walmore Hill School and Westbury-on-Severn CofE School, pre-school 'rising five' sessions were introduced and continue to take place in both schools," said Tracey.
"This is ideal for preparing children for 'real' school."
She said she looked forward to meeting parents and the committee would like to thank everyone who made the move to the new premises possible.
