DEAN Forest Food Hub is hoping to expand into the Newent and Ross-on-Wye areas and will be holding a meeting to gauge interest next Tuesday (November 21).

We reported recently in the Review, on the planned expansion of the online farmers’ market, following its success in the heart of the Forest.

Shari Vandervelde, co-ordinator for the food hub, said: “After the Forest Showcase at Speech House at the beginning of October it was evident that the most interest in food hub expansion was coming from the Ross and Newent areas, although Chepstow and Tidenham is not far behind.

“We have now organised a public meeting in Ross-on-Wye, which will be an opportunity for people to come along to find out how the Forest Food Hub works, and how to get involved if we set up or support a similar scheme in the area.

“We’re hoping to hear from potential producers, customers and volunteers.”

The meeting takes place at St Mary’s Church Hall in Ross at 7.30pm, with refreshemnts on offer from 7pm. If you’re interested but can’t come to the meeting, get in touch with Shari at [email protected]
