WOMEN'S Institute band The Harmonies is going for a Christmas Number One with its signature tune Jerusalem.

Band member Doreen Connor from Tutshill says: "We're trying to rival the X factor and it would be a dream come true if we succeed. We're asking people to download the song this Sunday (December 12) from itunes."

The band formed this summer after an appeal to WI members and the recording includes all 25 finalists as well as the Harmonies themselves.
