FURTHER to Cllr Preest's letter describing the method of our correspondence with him, I think it would be helpful to explain that we encrypt all emails containing personal data about our tenants, regardless of the email address used.

Information security is of great importance as we hold a lot of personal data about our tenants that needs to be kept safe. Encryption is a widely-accepted and responsible method of protecting confidential information being shared by email.

Cllr Preest, and anyone else who receives an email from us using this method, should be reassured that, contrary to Cllr Preest's suggestion, an Enigma de-coding device is not required to open it. A password is all that's needed.

As Cllr Preest knows from the various invitations offered, but never accepted, we would be happy to meet to discuss this, or any other issues he may have relating to Two Rivers business. I can't help feeling this would be more productive than taking up valuable space in the Letters page of your newspaper.
