IT seems that to ‘get back control of our borders’ means discouraging immigrants by sinking the economy and mobilising xenophobia, there will be no need for a quota system, Australian or otherwise.

The only reasonable conclusion from the result of the referendum is that there is no consensus in the land.

Far from it being the wrong verdict, it is no verdict at all.

Both sides will suffer. Remainers are heartbroken and Brexiters will not get what they hoped for.

There will be no winners in the fallout from this reckless referendum.
