I READ the comments made by Cllr Preest and had to laugh out loud. It seems to me that he and the local traders haven't got a clue!
How can we expect to draw interest from major companies when the High Street is such a disgrace. The majority of the existing shops are tired and tatty both outside and inside. Window dressing non existent and something out of the 50's and most of the shops insist on a 'cash only' policy.
If they smartened up their act, cleaned the windows of out of date advertisements, dressed them properly and moved into the 21s century I am sure they would increase their sales and inspire others to invest. – J Hazell, Lydney resident.
