SPECULATION that the Birch family are moving to Lydney have been quashed, the Review has been exclusively told.

A spokesperson for Camphill Village Trust, who provides long-term accommodation for individuals with learning difficulties, denied the move.

They said: “We can confirm that the Birch family are not, to our knowledge, being housed in Lydney. A member of our team, in error, agreed to a request to provide overnight accommodation for the family.

“Camphill Village Trust provides long-term accommodation within supportive communities for individuals who have learning disabilities. We do not offer short-term homelessness accommodation.

“When we realised what happened we acted immediately, explaining to the family and the local council that we were unable to provide temporary housing for them. On the same day they had arrived, the family were transported to Stroud where the council had arranged temporary accommodation.”

It was reported to the Review that, despite press reports that the family were found a home in Stroud, they are actually to be moved in Church Road.

Court orders had placed them in an injunction that was designed to curb their public swearing, threats, fighting and shouting, for which more 300 incidents have been reported.
