WE, the young people of Chepstow, are regularly reading and listening to complaints about skateboarders and 'inline skaters.' What is happening is that if we skate on the street the police tell us to move on, then we go somewhere else, we are then moved on again. It seems like a vicious circle.

We have to pay £2.50 to go to Newport then pay £7.50 to skate at Newport skate park. If the skate park was built on Piggy's Hill, Bulwark, we would have somewhere to skate. We don't want to upset anyone and we don't want to get in trouble with the police. If we had a skate park we would be off the streets and be out of everyone's way. – Luke Birbeck, Central Kaff, Welsh Street, Chepstow.
