I READ last week’s front page and was utterly disgusted. I wrote the attached which sums up my feelings and, I would imagine, those of many other decent people.
I wouldn’t think the ‘hero’ will have the guts to object.
So you’re out in the woods
In your old four by four
Dumping all your rubbish
On the forest floor
An old man out walking
Comes up to speak to you
And being such a brave man
You beat him black and blue.
What a hero
Are you feeling good about it?
Proud of yourself?
Common assault on a pensioner
Who couldn’t defend himself.
If you keep a diary
Write on this page
Coward. Coward. Coward
Beat up an old man twice my age.
What a hero.
What about your children
Will they look up to you?
And say: “Hey daddy
What is it that you do?
Are you a good man?”
What will you say?
“Sure, I beat up an old man
Then I ran away.”
What a hero.
Someone will know you
And I hope they’ll turn you over
To those out there looking
For a Y reg Landrover
Meanwhile let’s wish the real man
A full recovery
And hope the police get a lead
On that old Discovery
And the hero.
With an IQ that’s sub zero, where’s the hero?
