ONE of Britain's favourite groups, cider-worshipping The Wurzels, are regrouping for a special Whitecroft weekend of music dubbed The Dabdown Festival.
Wurzel member John Morgan, raised in the area and living in Aylburton, is of course no stranger to Dabdown, a local nickname for Whitecroft, and he has been organising the Miners Arms event running from Friday April 20-Sunday April 22.
"I wanted it as a bit of a get-together as well as a chance to raise money to help local charities including Aylburton Memorial Hall," John told the Review.
"We've got a lot of groups and individuals, some local and some national, coming along, and it should be great weekend of music."
Appearing besides The Wurzels, who will play on the Saturday night, are Livestock Davis and the Lowdown Snakes, The Dukes, Sian and the Sugardaddies, Rusty Shackle, Dopm and Josh, The Bob Smith Identity, Don't Tell Johnny, Pip and Graham, The Springfield Singers, Cinderford Brass and Tom Browning, and many more.
There will also be a hog roast, burgers, and some fun for children, says John, who invites everyone along for a good time.
