BEREAVED Betty Giles of Dean Croft, Littledean is grieving after ornaments were stolen from her husband's memorial garden.
Her husband Ruben died almost a year ago and Mrs Giles recently brought home his ashes.
She created a memorial area in her back garden so that she could look out and remember her husband every day.
She also has a bench in his memory in Yew Tree Brake Cemetery.
But on Thursday night (April 2) a robin on a stick, three stars which light up at night and some ornamental grasses were stolen.
Her son Christopher said: "She wanted a pot in the garden so she could look at it every day.
"I had a telephone call and my mother was very upset. She wasn't going to contact the police because she thought they wouldn't be interested, but I reported it.
"There is a little sign which says 'Dad's garden', which has been left – I don't know how she would have coped if that was taken."
The family are appealing for people to look out for the ornaments and contact the police with any information.
