WE visited the Forest in July for a five day stay, this not being the first.

We love the area and, as before, enjoyed our visit very much. The only difference this time was leaving and on our return home, we were unable to settle. It was not the fantastic weather (we arrived in torrential rain) also some of the Forest was still closed due to foot and mouth. It is the sheer beauty and tranquility of the "special" Forest of Dean.

Since returning home, I have contacted the district council for information and received details of property from estate agents.

We have also been receiving The Review, which we now look forward to.

We thought your readers may be able to offer some help with why we should move to this area.

The following points I have noted from your paper over the past few weeks: Worst district council in the new Audit Commission data; Problems on health matters (all areas have those); Huge job losses at Xerox, plus others; New Tesco store at Lydney; Many good community events and local issues.

Like all areas there are good and bad points but we would be very interested to hear your readers' comments.
