WITH regard to the Ruardean Woodside Darby and Joan Club's 'framed tablecloth'; this picture is very beautiful, very unique and professionally framed. It is a picture no other hall has in the Forest of Dean, it has heritage and holds so many happy memories of past members and past hall committee members.
This picture was on the wall before some of those hall committeemembers joined, and some had no connections with the hall or the picture until then. So this picture means nothing to them, it's just clutter.
This is a 'memorial' hall for past and future memories to be kept, not a sterile hall which is what they want.
The picture should have its place back on the wall where it has hung for the past nine years for people to admire it. Oh yes, people did admire it very much!
Their excuse are damp walls. Why then did they not have them pointed on the outside before building an extension for a bar?
Some of these committee members are not Foresters, though half are.
Forest people were always known for sticking together and helping each other.
There's only one word for these Foresters – hippocrates who have let down past generations. –
