AN AWARD-winning nursery is celebrating a clean sweep at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Malvern Spring Festival.
Peter Dowle and his Howle Hill Nursery team secured gold medal, best in show and best construction awards for their show-stopping “At One With... A Meditation Garden”.
The Coughton-based team’s creation was designed to offer a quiet retreat within a larger garden, suitable for meditation, yoga or simply a place to relax.
Managing director and co-designer Peter Dowle said: “Gardens and gardening provide a way of connecting the mind and body to the environment and the spirit, and including the five senses, provides a bridge for these connections.
“Treating the body and mind holistically provides a connectedness with the self, but a major component for many in healing is a connectedness with the environment and creating an environment that facilitates the healing process.”
He added “We are delighted our vision was so widely appreciated, a fantastic result and testament to our skilled construction and planting teams for capturing the essence of the design.
“It was our privilege to work with the RHS and Malvern committee once again to dress areas of the site – providing lighting, constructing staging and dressed plant supply.
“It was a massive team effort as always but with the help of a bit of good weather it made for a fantastic show that continues to grow year on year.”
The 11-time Chelsea Flower Show gold medalist and his team now move onto the National Exhibition Centre and BBC Gardeners World Live, where they will be constructing five gardens to celebrate 50 years of Gardeners World Live, designed by Geoff Hamilton and David Stevens.
Visitors are welcome to browse the nursery from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
