A HEARTBROKEN pet owner has offered a £500 reward for the safe return of her baby pygmy goat after the tiny animal was stolen overnight from her St Briavels smallholding.

Whoever stole the foot-high black and white pet struck overnight on Thursday to Friday, January 18-19 by opening the shed and taking her from its mother.

Owner Hatt Teague said: "It’s unbelievable, why would anyone do such a thing? I’m absolutely gutted and am desperate to get her back.

"Her mother Bonnie is distraught and has lost her voice from bleating for Buffy."

Specialist stroke nurse Hatt, 30, who lives beside her family’s farm on Bream Road, Trowgreen, said: "I guess someone has seen her out in the paddock during the day. They came in overnight and let all the chickens and ducks out of the neighbouring shed before finding Buffy.

"I’ve reported the theft to the police, am offering a £500 reward and would ask people to keep their eyes out on social media and the like if anyone tries to sell her.

"She was put to bed around 10.30pm on the Thursday, and then my mum came in and said ’I don’t know how to tell you this, but Buffy’s gone’ around 8am next morning.

"She’s only five months old and I bred her myself, and really miss her. She’s my pet and I love her to bits. She loves to snuggle into your neck and have a cuddle, and I’m devastated. If anyone knows where she is please get in touch."
