A MEMBER of a Severnside art group took a holiday and turned it into an evocative painting.

Ann Mullen worked on the scene from Majorca at weekly meetings of the group at TogetherWorks in Caldicot.

On Tuesday (August 22), she presented the finished artwork to Jacob Vowles-Morgan who took the picture while on holiday with friends in Majorca.

He learnt about the talented artist through his grandfather, Ken, who has been attending the group.

Jacob said: “It’s an amazing piece of work.

“I showed my friends and they all immediately recognised it.”

Ann said she had been painting “for as long as I can remember.”

The group offers older people a wide range of art and craft activities and the opportunity to meet others on a weekly basis.

It was formed about six years ago and initially met before moving to the senior citizens’ centre in Bulwark and now at TogetherWorks, next to Caldicot Library between 12.30pm and 4pm on Tuesdays.
