IF you went down to the woods near Speech House on Sunday, you would certainly have had the biggest of surprises as 200-plus pink-clad walkers (and dogs!) ploughed through the trees.
Their objective was raising funds for cancer research – and they achieved all they wanted and more, said Pink Plod organiser Lynne Garner.
"They came in pyjamas, in Halloween costumes – just about everything. I tell you what, there are some very creative people in the Forest of Dean!
"Everyone said how well organised it was and what a great time they had, with tea, coffee and cakes all included – and not just any cakes. Once again people had been very creative."
Lynne said so far the event had raised £2,500 to add to £60,000 already raised at other events this year.
"It's a great group of people, including all the volunteers who put it all together. And more and more are getting involved."
