POLICE are hunting a ’plump’ bearded robber with a foreign accent who threatened travel agency staff and stole hundreds of Euros.

The raid happened on Saturday (February 17) afternoon at Miles Morgan Travel in Ross-on-Wye, and officers have asked people to be on the lookout for anyone answering the description trying to exchange a large sum of Euros.

The robber went into the Market Place business around 4.45pm just before closing time, and threatened staff and customers before leaving with 715 Euros (around £650).

The man is described as being eastern European or Middle Eastern with a strong accent, and is between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 10ins tall, plump and in his late 40s.

He had a dark stubbly beard and was wearing dark clothing.

Sergeant Sarah Bennett of West Mercia Police said: "This was clearly a distressing incident. Extensive enquiries are being made and anyone with information should get in touch.

"I’d ask people in the area to be on the lookout for a man fitting this description attempting to change an amount of Euros similar to the amount stolen."
