POLICE are hunting two men after a rush hour knife attack on a 44-year-old van driver left him with hand and chest wounds.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said officers were called yesterday (Wednesday, November 21) around 5.10pm to Station Street in Cinderford following reports of an assault on a man.

The victim had been driving a white van on Station Street near the junction of Colliers Field when a midnight blue Vauxhall Astra, possibly with tinted windows, pulled up in front of him. 

Two white males got out of the Astra and assaulted the driver causing knife cuts to his hand and chest.

Paramedics attended and the man’s injuries required stitching, but are not believed to be serious.

The offenders then drove off at speed along Station Street in the blue Astra.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that can help police with their enquiries.  

Witnesses should call 101 quoting incident number 286 of 21 November 2018.
