POOR old Coleford. Is there no help to be expected from any of the authorities to get the town put to rights?

It lost its Market House which would have been a treasure now.

The centre round the clock tower is much improved, but the past mutilations of the town need a major effort to put things right.

The playing field was put up on the hill out of the way, when it could have been put where Bells Place is now.

It has had the devastating blow of a through road for heavy traffic imposed on it that was contemptuously called a 'spine road.'

Who is responsible for the hold-up on the work on Mushet Walk?

Despite my repeated requests for 'traffic calming' to be installed there is not even a 30 mph sign from the traffic lights at High Nash (there was one there but it was taken away) to the traffic lights in the centre of the town by the Market Place.

The speed of traffic attempting to catch the green light, at those lights, as they come round the bend where the Old Station Way joins Lords Hill, is terrifying. Waiting for someone to be killed?

Who is supposed to look after the interests of the hapless inhabitants? – W.J. Barber, Lords Hill, Coleford.
