A 54-YEAR-OLD man arrested in connection with the death of a woman near Littledean has been released without charge and will face no further action. 

Police were called to a house in The Slad at Popes Hill, between Littledean and Elton Corner, last Friday night where a woman had suffered fatal injuries.

It’s reported the 56-year-old woman suffered a ‘nasty’ head injury as a result of falling down the stairs.

Detectives have now completed their investigation and are satisfied the death was not suspicious.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “Officers would like to thank residents for their cooperation and the scene will be handed back to the family shortly.

“Police will now continue to gather information for the coroner in relation to the death.”
