STAFF at Monmouth delivery office were given words of support and encouragement from two local politicians during its busiest time of the year.

Monmouth MP David Davies and Nick Ramsay AM wanted to give their festive wishes to staff in person while seeing first-hand the work they do.

Mr Davies and Mr Ramsay were given a guided tour of the office by manager Matthew Morgan, and met with the postmen and women.

Mr Davies MP said: “I would like to thank the postal workers for the lengths they go to ensure all these presents are safely delivered – and that’s even before they start on the cards.”

Mr Ramsay added: “And let’s not forget the excellent year-round service we receive from our postmen and women in all weathers.”

Matthew said: “It was a pleasure to show David and Nick our Christmas operation and to hear their kind words of encouragement and support.

“We are extremely proud of our postmen and women for all their hard work during the festive season and for continuing our proud history of delivering Christmas mail.”

The last recommended posting dates for Christmas are: second class – Tuesday, December 20; first class – Wednesday, December 21 and special delivery – Thursday, December 22.
