I FIND it interesting that Cllr Vernon Smith says in the Review that “high priority issues are fixed within 24 hours and other damage within 28 days” when referring to potholes in the county.

If that were actually the case the entire county should be almost pothole-free within a month unless the darn things are breeding and they’re growing like wildfire.

As some potholes in the Forest would seem to have been there for years, with  the only work carried out on them being the ‘white ring treatment’ now and then, I’m surprised that he can say this with a straight face.

A few words with Amey (aka Gloucestershire Highways) would seem to be in order.
