THE excellent letter from 'Concerned animal lover' published in the Review (2.11.2012) has astounded me, and I am sure, other people.
I am disgusted that some of our Forest of Dean council members would even contemplate a Licence for puppy breeding. Where were the other council members when debating such a subject?
I was under the impression puppy farms had been stamped out. Evidently, this is not the case.
It is to be hoped the RSPCA, IFAW and other charities we subscribe to will act for us.
Seeing a rescue bitch recently from such an establishment brought tears to my eyes. The little spaniel bitch was so timid and her beautiful brown eyes looked so sad. Dog owners will know what I mean!
Eventually her tail started to wag as her loving, amazing, new owner encouraged the dear animal to greet me.
This spaniel is fortunate to be well on the way to recovery in a caring, loving home which she so deserves.
A law should be passed to stop irresponsible owners of pets.
Perhaps our local MP will take up the case. Let us hope help is available soon.
