IT was perfect weather conditions for ducks at this year's 21st annual Bishopswood Duck Race.

The overcast, cool and rainy weather made for a fun show as the rubber ducks were tipped over Kerne Bridge into the River Wye where they raced to the finish line at the Canoe Launch, on the other side of the village hall. Sarah Webb had the winning duck and received £20 for her efforts.

Organiser Catherine Hatherall said: "The afternoon events were well-supported. The fun went ahead, despite the weather, with a couple of stalls and barbecue continuing undercover outside, while other stalls and children's games were moved into the hall. Children of all ages played together in true community spirit with games such as hoopla, soft ball skittles and darts – to name just a few.

"The fun went on to the evening with a barn dance with the Life of Riley, who managed again to get most people on the floor dancing for an enjoyable evening's entertainment."
