I WONDER if you can guide me to locate an archive newspaper article?
In my family history I discovered that my second great grandfather was killed when constructing the Wye Valley railway. His death certificate states: "Crushed by the fall of a large stone from the face of a heading for a tunnel on the Wye Valley railway."
Not an uncommon occurrence in those days perhaps, but it may have featured in a local newspaper.
His name was Peter Pidsley and the event occurred on December 1, 1874 when he was aged 41. The inquest was held on December 3, 1874.
If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.
