FOUR Forest horse enthusiasts are riding high in the saddle after a fund-raising family fun day at the Speech House field.

The four have all qualified as a team to represent the local area in the national Horse Trials Championships at Northampton from August 5-7, and after the weekend event they have the money to make it!

"We will be going!" said Rachel Tippins, speaking for fellow team members. "Around £300 was collected which will be used to cover our entry, stabling and other costs."

The trials have a punishing programme which includes dressage, showjumping, cross-country, steeplechase and road and track sections, and they were training for it six days a week.

The Speech House event saw about 40 horses with 60 competitors enjoying gymkhana events.
