A RALLY car worth £70,000 was stolen from Chepstow Racecourse ahead of a big race.

The Citroen C2 belonging to a North Wales businessman was fully prepared for Saturday's Wyedean Rally which started from the racecourse before heading into the Forest of Dean.

The red Citroen, registration number BL05 CGF, was taken overnight last Friday and reported stolen on Saturday morning.

The car belongs to Mr Andrew Hockridge, a member of Rhyl and District Motor Club.

There were unconfirmed reports on Facebook that the car had been found in Newport.
