SEEN here is the recording session for the first Hands off Our Forest (HOOF) CD featuring some of the Forest's finest homegrown talent.

The artists who came together after the January 3 rally at Speech House include poets and musicians. Among them are Dick Brice who'll be including his now famous 'Land between two rivers' song,  Asha Faria-Vare from Soudley, Roger Drury, Ghost of a Dog, Bob Smith, Max Fisher and Mike Edwards from Edge End aka 'Poet Pilot' who is contributing several songs like 'Wood for the Trees' which does have some polite bits as well.

To find out how to get your hands on the CDs which will be available shortly go the HOOF website http://www.handsoffourforest.org">www.handsoffourforest.org or get in touch with the Review or Forester.

•As a follow up to protests at the dog sled rally (see page 28) there will also be a cycle event this Sunday (January 23) at Pedalabikeaway from 12 noon.

Organisers say: "Cyclists stand to loose more than most if the Public Bodies Bill goes ahead as government ministers have admitted that even in the unlikely event that access to all present paths in the Forest are protected under a sell-off it will not apply to cyclists and horse riders."

The event is intended as a small cycling outing and a photo with placards rather than a large gathering like the January 3 rally at Speech House and parking is limited – please park at Beechenhurst or Cannop, not Pedalabikeaway.
