YOUNG Lauren Hancock of Yorkley is pleased as punch after being made a match-day mascot for her favourite football club, Liverpool FC.
Lauren, 9, goes to Lydney's Primrose Hill School, and she was selected to be the official match-day mascot for Liverpool in their recent game against Wolves.
A junior member of Liverpool, she was well looked after by the club and her photo with manager Kenny Dalglish was in the match programme.
She met all the players beforehand in the changing room and made sure she obtained all their autographs as well as signed memorabilia.
Lauren was led onto the pitch before the game by international defender Martin Skertal, and Liverpool went on to win the game 3-0. Her favourite player is Steven Gerrard.
Dad Ashley is also a major Liverpool fan, which is how Lauren become interested in the club.
"He's a mega, mega fan," said Lauren's mum, who added that Primrose Hill had been very accommodating when Lauren wanted school time off for her recent pitch appearance.
