RESIDENTS of a Forest care home enjoyed an afternoon of rugby-themed activities with the highlight being the visit of a local side.

Members of the Drybrook Ladies under-18s team visited Townsend House care home in Mitcheldean as part of the activities to celebrate national care home week.

With the Rugby World Cup on the horizon, staff at the home organised the theme day and there was even a set of rugby posts erected in the garden for games.

The home's activities co-ordinator, Sarah Harding, said: "With the Rugby World Cup coming soon we decided to have a rugby theme to mark national care home week.

"We were delighted that members of Drybrook RFC's under-18 ladies side could join us for an afternoon of fun.

"The residents enjoyed a picnic lunch in the garden and then they took part in a range of rugby-themed games, including a crossbar challenge and passing skill game set up by the girls."
