BOSS of the Forest Canine Adoption Agency Louise Best is thanking generous readers after 20 rescue dogs from Ireland found new homes.

A Review report publicising the plight of the dogs, abandoned following stringent new Irish dog-owning rules, drew enormous sympathy, says Louise.

"The Canine Adoption Agency would like to say thank you for the amazing response to the plight of Irish rescue dogs featured recently in the Review," said Louise.

"We have managed to secure foster and permanent homes for nearly 20 dogs and are still catching up on calls and collecting donated items, so please be patient if we haven't got to you yet.

"The dogs are arriving in the Forest on April 20 and we need a venue to unload them and have them collected by their new owners. If you have a secure paddock or large garden and would like to host the event please call me on 07792042148."

Louise added she still had many rescue dogs waiting for new homes.
