RARE breed meat producer Richard Vaughan of Hunts­ham Court Farm, near Goodrich, has been nominated for Best Producer in the annual Observer Food Monthly Awards.

Judging takes place on Thursday (July 28) and on the panel will be prestigious chefs and food critics including Nigel Slater, Angel Hartnett and Jay Rayner.

Richard Vaughan says: "It's a huge honour to be nominated at this year's awards. We are very proud that our hard work towards creating produce with superior taste and texture has been recognised in such a way."

Huntsham Farm specialises in producing meat from rare pedigree animals including Longhorn beef, Middle White pork and Ryeland lamb.

The meat from is sold on an 'as available' basis, matured and butchered to meet the requirements of individual customers.
