Drivers in and around the Forest of Dean will have 13 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that seven closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M50, from 9am May 24 to 6am July 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M50 eastbound and westbound, junction 4 to junction 3, lane closures both directions and eastbound, carriageway closures for barriers repairs.

A40, from 11am March 3 2021 to 8pm August 9 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A40 Dursley Cross temporary two-way traffic lights for emergency landslide works.

M50, from 8pm July 4 to 6am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M50 eastbound and westbound, Travellers rest roundabout to M50 / M5, Lane closure for Central Reservation on behalf of Colas.

M48, from 7pm June 22 2022 to 6am January 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M48 westbound, Severn Bridge - Lane closure for main cable inspection works.

M48, from 7pm May 9 2022 to 6am April 5 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M48 eastbound, junction 2 to 1 Severn Bridge - carriageway closure for structure maintenance, diversion via M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.

M48, from 7pm May 11 2022 to 6am April 7 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M48 westbound, junction 1 to 2 Severn Bridge - carriageway closure for structure maintenance, diversion via M4 Prince of Wales bridge.

M4, from 10pm May 23 2022 to 6am April 14 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 22 to 23 Prince of Wales Bridge - carriageway closure for structure maintenance, diversion via M48 Severn Bridge.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

M4, from 9pm July 11 to 6am July 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 Prince of Wales Bridge eastbound, carriageway closed overnight for bridge maintenance. Includes westbound, safety lane closure. Diversion via M48 Severn Bridge.

M48, from 7pm to 9pm on July 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M48 westbound, Severn Bridge carriageway closed for main cable inspection and other maintenance works. Diversion via M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.

A417, from 10pm July 13 to 6am July 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 12 exit slip road closure for horticulture works, diversion to continue northbound, M5, exit, junction 11a, turn and re-join M5 southbound, exit, junction 12. Alternatively exit at M5, junction 13 and follow A38 northbound to junction 12.

M48, from 2am July 14 to 6am November 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M48 eastbound, Severn Bridge lane closure 24 / seven for main cable inspection and bridge maintenance works.

A40, from 8am July 18 to 6pm July 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A40 Huntley traffic lights for new water connection ( SEVERN TRENT WATER).

M4, from 9pm July 18 to 6am July 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M48 westbound, M4, junction 20 to M48, junction 1 carriageway closure including closure of M48, junction 1 westbound, entry slip road - for road markings renewal, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 23a, turn and re-join M4 eastbound, join M48 at, junction 23 to junction 1, diversion for M48 entry slip road closure via M4 eastbound, M5 southbound, exit, junction 16, turn and re-join M5 northbound, M4 westbound and follow main diversion route.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
