POLICE are looking for the driver of a BMW who launched a hammer into the back of an Audi last Tuesday (October 1).

The driver had been following the driver of the Audi Quattro at speed and allegedly flashed his lights and sounded his horn several times. As they were queuing in traffic on St Whites Road at the Ruspidge Road junction in Cinderford, at around 4.25pm, the man in the black BMW wound down his window and threw a hammer at the back of the Audi. The tool bounced onto the rear windscreen and smashed it before landing on the road.

As he drove away the Audi driver saw the driver of the BMW open his door and pick up the hammer before reversing and turning around in the car park of the White Hart pub. The BMW then drove off towards the junction of St Whites Road and Valley Road.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or the BMW being driven in the area around the time of the incident should call 101, quoting incident 335 of October 1.
