THE owners of a distinctive Grade II-listed tea shop in the “birthplace of tourism” are hoping it will cause a stir in the market place.

With an “eye-catching” blue frontage, Pots and Pieces Tea Room next to Ross-on-Wye’s Market House is up for sale for £460,000 after current owners David and Sara Bruce decided to move on.

“We bought the business 11 years ago and spent three months renovating the entire building. What we hadn’t realised was just how busy Ross is all year round,” said David.

“It’s a very outdoors place attracting canoeists, walkers and fishermen. It’s also on the main cycle route between Land’s End and John O’Groats and we also welcome visitors from all over the world!”

Peter Brunt, a director in the hotels team at Colliers International, who are handling the sale, said: “If you have visited Ross-on-Wye the chances are you will have passed, and very possibly dropped in on, Pots and Pieces which is located right in the centre of the historic market town, next to the ancient Market House.

“The Grade II-listed terraced building dates from the 18th century.”
