•Writer Kay Sparkes has uncovered a picture of Mitcheldean baker Frank Hill with Princess Elizabeth's royal wedding cake.?Frank made and decorated Princess Elizabeth's wedding cake while working for Kay's father, Mr Sparkes, at Castle Cary in Somerset. He later settled in Mitcheldean operating his own bakery in the High Street. He had a son Spencer (born 1940), and a daughter, Sheila (born 1944) and his wife was called Margaret, Kay tells us.
