The local adults and cadets from Cinderford and Coleford are to be congratulated on their endeavours on the Forest of Dean Half Marathon and raising money for The Warrior programme. Next year try, Cinderford versus Coleford and possibly Newent.

The members of the Gloucestershire Army Cadet Force were also on parade in Gloucester last Saturday to mark several memorable events; the Rifles were receiving the Freedom of the City of Gloucester; at the Cathedral a Service of Commemoration for the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Imjin with old comrades from the Glorious Glosters and The Korean Veterans' Association.

The cadets were presented with new banners by the Lord Lieutenant for Gloucestershire, Dame Janet Trotter. To see all the cadets on parade in Gloucester Docks on a Saturday morning was great. Not all young kids are hopeless.
