THE re-run of the Forest Sausage and Beer Festival, a Forest Food Festival event originally cancelled because of the petrol crisis, was a piping hot success – even if the beer couldn't make it!
Dozens and dozens of people turned up at Coleford Community Centre, despite atrocious weather, to sample the very best of the Forest and Gloucestershire sausage-markers' art.
Unhappily the local brewery was unable to get along to the event because of other commitments, but there were a lot of other food and drink products available for tasting as well as locally made craft goods.
Dee Edginton brought along a range of candles she sells under her DeeCandlemaker label, and Katie Lloyd of Ragman's Lane Farm had a display of apple juice, cider and perry which was eagerly sampled.
"I did very good business – there were a lot of people, far more than the main event in Cinderford," said Dee.
