A MUM of two has removed her children from the school where she is chair of the Friends Association after her daughter was allegedly a victim of "inappropriate" behaviour from another pupil.

Marnie Fewtrell removed her children from Berry Hill Primary School on Friday following the claims of harassment by a nine-year-old boy.

Headteacher Gail Jones said the incident was fully investigated in line with school policy.

Mrs Fewtrell said: "I was told about an incident at school, whereby my daughter and a lunch room full of children were exposed to a horrific description of what a classmate wanted to do sexually to my daughter.   "My daughter was too embarrassed to talk about it, so I suggested she wrote down what had happened and I took it to the school the next morning. The headteacher was out, so I gave the report to her class teacher.

"My daughter was put into another class for the day and that evening she said the head had called her in for a chat – no other teacher/adult was present – and she felt uncomfortable talking to her.

"The boy had also been called in to see the head and was apparently told off, as the boy apologised to my daughter. However, at break time the same day, the boy was gazing at my daughter and blowing kisses.

"It eventually came out that the boy in question has also tried to touch my daughter in inappropriate places during PE lessons - but still the head refuses to do anything. The head has a duty of care to all her pupils, so why does she see fit to keep the boy in class?

"I reported the events to Coleford police station, but due to the boy's age they had to refer it to social care, which was fine. My husband and I are in talks with the head at Pillowell School, they are already full, but understand our predicament, so are trying to squeeze us in."

Headteacher at Berry Hill Primary School, Gail Jones said: "I'd like to reassure parents that this incident was fully and properly investigated by the school and governors, in line with our policies.

"Our main responsibility is that Berry Hill Primary School is a safe place for all children and we encourage parents to come and talk to us if they have any concerns."
