SUPERB A-level results have placed John Kyrle School in Ross in the top four per cent of the nation’s schools and colleges.

It is the fourth year running that the school has been placed in the top 10.

Students gained more than 60 per cent A*-B grades with a pass rate of just under 100 per cent in a wide range of academic subjects.

Many are now studying at Oxford and Cambridge universities, other Russell group institutions, medical schools and universities and colleges across the country.

Some are also following vocational routes, including higher apprenticeships.

Sixth form head and assistant head teacher Rob Wallace said he was delighted with the destinations of last year’s Year 13, and the school was working hard to ensure similar, if not better, success for current students. He said students had also participated in a wide range of activities in the sixth form, including being subject ambassadors, working with other schools, developing employability skills and undertaking visits such as the ski trip to Austria and the school’s annual visit to Uganda.

Headteacher Nigel Griffiths said he was delighted for his students and staff, and thanked parents and carers for their continued support.

Mr Griffiths said data from the Department for Education noted that John Kyrle Sixth Form was in the top four per cent nationally, something of which he, his staff and the school trustees were particularly proud.
