ROSS and Monmouth Sea Cadets will be able to buy 'much needed' computer equipment thanks to a donation from a building society.

A match-funded donation of £250 has been given to the cadets by Monmouthshire Building Society which they will be using to purchase a projector and a laptop computer which, they say will help the brigade access the digital learning requirements of their new national training programme and allow material to be used within presentations.

Lieutenant Adrian Gittens, officer in charge of the Ross and Monmouth Sea Cadets, said: " It's especially thrilling to be given this funding award as the new curriculum will be an invaluable tool in the cadets' development, and the projectors will be used during many of our class-based exercises."

Information on how local groups can apply is available from Monmouth Building Society branches, or at the website http://www.monbs.com">www.monbs.com in the 'community' section.
