MONMOUTHSHIRE Museums are working with World Wildlife Fund Cymru to offer free two hour workshops for adults on Saturday (February 25) at Chepstow Drill Hall and Monmouth Museum.

The event will contribute to the Message in a Bottle sculpture at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay, for Earth Hour Wales in March, encouraging people to turn off lights to symbolise their commitment to the planet.

Artist Lulu Quinn’s workshop focuses on solutions for climate change, discussing the different issues and problem solving.

Curator of Chepstow Museum, Anne Rainsbury said: “This is an opportunity to make a personal statement and help Lulu construct a section of the eight metre Message in a Bottle illuminated sculpture to be installed in Cardiff.

“The messages will form a powerful, collective and urgent message from the people of Wales to Welsh politicians and the world that we want national and global action on climate change.”

The project is supported by the Arts Council of Wales and by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The workshop in Chepstow runs from 10am to 12noon and places can be booked by calling Chepstow Museum on 01291 625981. Monmouth’s workshop runs from 2pm to 4pm. To book a place call 01600 710630.
