SOME 25 runners from Gloucester clubs made the trip to the Forest of Dean for the Spring Trails half marathon.
It was a particularly good day for Severn Athlec Club who took the team trophy.
The victory was the biggest team win since the club’s 2016 revival.
The times of each club’s first three athletes home counted towards the team title.
Severn’s James Rose, Chris Brown and Will Richmond posted a combined time of 4:05:41, some six minutes quicker than second-placed Southville of Bristol.
The trio Severn trio set off together for the first 5K with Will achieving a personal best for the distance.
James pulled away to finish sixth among the 1,887 runners in a time of 1:19:14.
He was also second in the V40 category and won the trophy for the first Forest of Dean resident home - he lives in Dymock near Newent.
Chris struggled with the last two miles but was 19th overall in 1:21:46.
Will was the last scoring athlete for Severn and a personal best of 1:24:40 earned him 29th place.
The largest Gloucester contingent came from Kingsway Runners with eight members taking part.
First home was Neil Jackson who finished 169th in 1:36:32.
The first female finisher for Kingsway was Megan Peacey who ran 2:01:25 to finish 280th.
Hucclecote Harriers had five runners and the quickest was Jordan Evans who finished 150th with a time of 1:26:26.
The first Hucclecote female finisher was Sarah Farr who was 88th with 1:48:28.
Tri Team Glos had five runners with Charles Harris finishing in 288th position with a time of 1:38:47.
The only female member from the club to take part was Sally Flewitt.
She finished in 141st in 1:52:44 and was 20th in the FV50 category.
Gloucester AC had three runners with Pete Haynes leading them in home in a time of 1:27:53 which earned him a finishing position of 51st.
Adrian Arnold crossed the line in 1:47:48 which placed him 456th.
The final Gloucester AC runner was Amy Walker who finished 113th in 1:50:47.
Severn AC’s Imran Hassanjee and Farook Mota continued their marathon training by pacing at the Weston-super-Mare 13-miler.
Imran was 64th in 1:29:51 (1:30:00 pacer) while Farook was 628th out of 1,577 runners in a time of 1:57:00 (2:00:00 pacer).
Dave Howells and Victor Marques of Severn AC took part in the Pendock Chicken 10K in south Worcestershire.
Dave was 16th overall and third in the V50 category with a time of 42:06.
Victor was 102nd in a time of 55:57 out of 215 runners.
