LOCAL band Rusty Shackle could per­form in a special Olympic torch con­cert in Cardiff.

The group is one of six that has reached the semi final of the Big Gig competition.

The competition takes place Tuesday (May 8) at the Globe in Cardiff.

The following day the best six bands will compete for a place at the city's evening Olympic Torch Relay Evening celebrations.

The celebrations on Friday, May 25 in Coopers Field in the heart of the city will feature a 15,000-ticket concert including Brit Award winner Emeli Sande.
