WE'VE just heard that our Government is intent on selling off our Forests to the highest bidder!
Obviously we live in the primary oak forest in the UK, some 27,000 acres, whose trees were planted by Lord Nelson to make sure there was sufficient oak for the building of warships in perpetuity.
Obviously we don't need the oak for ships any more although some was cut to repair the Cutty Sark when it was destroyed by fire.
What we do need to do is preserve this unique habitat for future generations to enjoy and to help absorb some of the carbon we produce.
If we're fighting to preserve the rain forests we should be just as vigilant in protecting our own native forests.
I've just signed up to support the save our forests petition. The more of us take part, the stronger the message will be.
Please sign the petition now: at http://www.38degrees">www.38degrees.
